Freshers’ tours – Tuesday 6th October<\/b><\/p>

The tours introduced the fresher medics to various lecture theatres and practical sites across the New Museums and Downing Sites, as well as the Chemistry Lecture Theatre. The tours were led by 2nd year medics and gave the 1st years the opportunity to ask questions and become familiar with key sites across Cambridge for their course. It also gave both year groups the opportunity to befriend one another.<\/p>

Welcome drinks – Tuesday 6th October<\/b><\/p>

To kick off LSM events in the 2026-27 academic year, we had welcome drinks in the New Combination Room in College, with catering kindly providing large amounts of snacks and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Fellows and students have the opportunity to catch up informally for a few hours in the evening. This is also a great chance for the first-year medical students to meet the Director of Studies and other fellows. \u00a0<\/p>

Meet the DoS quiz night – Friday 6th November<\/b><\/p>

This is always one of the highlights of the year. With high fellow turnout expected, this event always attracts many students to attend. With a large group fellows, supervisors, and students, three groups are created which compete against each other in a much-anticipated quiz showdown. Traditionally this has involved a stiff rivalry between Prof. Howe and Prof. Smith, who have a great time battling it over the anagrams section with frequent reciprocal allegations of foul play. This year’s quiz is highly anticipated and provides a great opportunity for cross-year friendships to become established, as well as getting to know supervisors in a more informal (yet competitive) setting.<\/p>

Stukeley talks – Saturday 21st November\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

The Stukeley Talks return for another year in the Harley Mason Room. This will involve 3 current Corpus students presenting their own research, which has been conducted across both the pre-clinical and clinical courses. This gives students the chance to practice presentation skills and receive feedback on their work, as well as giving younger students an insight into research opportunities available.
